The second round of the E4 Championship at Mugello saw Italian Formula 4 driver Payton Westcott face a challenging weekend, but one with bright points of progress. Although she was only able to contest Race 2 in full, she claimed a Class podium there, salvaging strong results from a weekend marked by misfortune. During Race 1, Westcott ended up stranded and unable to finish the race while avoiding a crash in front of her. She was also unable to start the final session of the weekend due to being taken out by another driver on the formation lap. However, in Race 2, she delivered her best performance of the round, securing a place on the Female Trophy podium and demonstrating resilience and pace despite the setbacks.

Westcott’s Race 2 result adds valuable points to her standing in the Female Trophy and underscores her steady improvement in wheel-to-wheel competition. Though disrupted in the other races, the weekend at Mugello offered lessons in racecraft, consistency, and recovery from adversity. In addition to her E4 campaign, Payton Westcott has been selected as one of 18 rookies to take part in the first-ever F1 Academy Rookie Test, to be held September 17-18, 2025, at Circuito de Navarra in Spain. This test will give aspiring female drivers aged 15-21 the chance to work with F1 Academy teams, undergo physical and cognitive assessments, and drive F1 Academy machinery under test conditions. Following the rookie test, Westcott will return to Italian F4 action, joining the grid for the Barcelona round on August 1–3 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
